Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he has banned over with players

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he has banned over with players from training with the first team.

This is one of the first major actions taken by the new manager since he came to Manchester City in the summer. Guardiola has been seen as a revolutionary coach with grand plans to make City as one of the top clubs in the world. City may have won every major honour in the Premier League, but they have fallen consistently short when it comes to the Champions League. The latter is also the aim for Guardiola since he failed to win major European honours at his previous club Bayern Munich.

Guardiola was expected to bring in a lot of changes when he came to the club to replace Manuel Pellegrini. It has been the order of the day, but none would have expected changes to be made at such a large scale straightaway. City begin their Premier League campaign with a home match against Sunderland on August 13. As they prepare intensively for the start of the new season, Guardiola says that there is no room in his squad for the players who rely heavily upon junk food. He has also ordered overweight players to stay away from training.

Manchester City might make a move for Nolito in the summer

There is news that Manchester City might be making a move for Nolito in the summer.

It is believed that the England club is preparing a bid of £13.8million for the Celta Vigo player. The striker has been a revelation last season in La Liga where he has managed to score 12 goals. His good form has caused him to be selected in the Spain national team for the Euros.

If Nolito sign for Manchester City it will Pep Guardiola’s second signing for the Manchester club after they announced the signing of IlkayGundogan earlier this month. Guardiola is keen to build a team that will allow him not only to compete for the Premier League title but also win the Champions League trophy. Indeed, this is the objective of the Manchester City owners, and they have stated that they will provide Guardiola with the necessary resources to build the team.

It was reported that Barcelona are also interested in the Celta Vigo player but at the moment it appears that Manchester City might be winning the race to sign the player. It is believed that Manchester City has already triggered the buy-out clause and that they have been given permission to speak to the player.

Manchester City did not attack Real Madrid enough according to Chris Waddle

Former England player Chris Waddle said that Manchester City respected Real Madrid too much and did not put them under pressure in the second leg of the game.

City was beaten 1-0 in Spain after conceding a goalless draw in the first leg.

Waddle said that Manchester City lacked creativity and attacking intent in Spain and that they could have done much better. He stated that they did not play with any tempo in their game and that it was too easy for Real Madrid. However, he believes that they do not have to be discouraged with the defeat as they are signs that they are progressing.

He added that it is not a humiliation to be beaten by Real Madrid, but it is just the fact that they could have done better. For him, Manchester City was a bit afraid of Real Madrid and forgot how to play their own football. For him, they had nothing to lose in Spain, and they should have attacked from the start of the game. He said that Manchester City had plenty of attacking options in the team, but they were not on display in the game against Madrid. FERGUSON SAYS GUARDIOLA WILL SUCCEED AT MANCHESTER CITY

Former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson has risen in support of former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola. He says the current head coach of Bayern munich FC will be a success though he won’t have it easy.

The widely celebrated coach won 14 major titles while at the helm in Spain. The titles were in 4 seasons at camp Nou. The talented coach will take over at Manchester city at the end of the season. He is to replace Chilean, Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium.

Ferguson says the swoop of Guardiola by city is a coup. He hailed the work ethic and pattern of play of Guardiola.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he admitted that the spainiard wouldn’t have it easy in the English Premier League. Ferguson said: “Without question Pep has got a fantastic work ethic about him, he demands that from all of his training sessions. Anyone who thinks they’re not going to work hard at City won’t last long. He [Guardiola] has got great coaching ability; there is no doubt about that.”

He added that he doesn’t think Guardiola could replicate his impressive titles’ run on England. “Man City has made a real coup in getting him but Pep won’t find it easy, English football is not easy.Every foreign coach that has come to England will tell you that. Arsene Wenger was talking about that a few months after coming and even Jose Mourinho was,” Sir Alex said.

He opines that the standard set for the coach might be too high. “Pep will be a success but I don’t think he’ll ever replicate what he did at Barcelona because that was a high standard – they were the best.” Continue reading FERGUSON SAYS GUARDIOLA WILL SUCCEED AT MANCHESTER CITY

Manuel Pellegrini outlines the importance of Sergio Aguero

It’s hard to deny that Sergio Aguero is one of the best players from the entire Premier League as the Argentine attacker is consistently scoring goals for whichever club that he joins, even before he had completed his move to Manchester City, when he was performing for the Spanish outfit Athletic Madrid, Aguero at that point in time was arguably one of the best forwards in the world.

Aguero is one of the top goal-scorers in the Premier League after having scored 10 goals in 15 league appearances and this is an incredible feat taking into consideration that the Argentine forward has been out of action for a significantly long period of time. The 27 year old forward had to be sidelined for over 2 months due to different injuries but he has still managed to find a place in the list of top goal-scorers of the top tier English League.

Manuel Pellegrini is hoping that Sergio Aguero will not suffer another injury in this season as his absence is huge and Pellegrini simply can’t afford to lose a player of his caliber and he doesn’t really have anyone else who can really replace him. Manchester City will be focusing on homegrown talent

Manchester City is currently going through a pre-season tour in the United States as they have already played against Toronto FC and came out on top with a lonely goal from the 20 year old English midfielder George Evans.

Manuel Pellegrini is using this pre-season tour as a chance for the younger players to step up and show their worth in the pitch.

SekoFofana, Jose Angel Pozo, Bersant Celina and George Evans are some of the youth performers that Manuel Pellegrini placed into the pitch during Manchester City’s friendly match against Toronto FC.

However, even with the amount of players that Pellegrini has promoted from the youth academy into the main team, Joe Hart believes that Manchester City will still be active in the transfer market of the upcoming transfer window and one of the priorities will be in signing young British players.
