UNITED NATIONS AND THE INTERNATIONAL DECADE OF THE WORLD'S INDIGENOUS PEOPLE (1994-2004)

From what little research I have done, I gather that the UN wants to establish a global indigenous policy by the end of the designated decade, 2004. The current obstacle
is the issue of self-determination, which is listed as one of the basic human rights.
The UN wants to deny this right to Indigenous Peoples worldwide.
